In the last six months, the requirement for us to provide more detailed land and measured building surveys, with a quicker turnaround time, has grown exponentially.
With survey hardware and software constantly evolving, we aimed to refine a new workflow that would allow us to capture, process and produce accurate and beautifully rich point clouds in super quick time.
We’ve used lot’s of laser scanners in the past. We’ve also trialled various software programs to process these often large data sets. To be honest, we’ve always found them quite clunky. Whilst they have inevitably been the right tool for the job, the process has always been a slog!
Capturing millions of points and imagery, to then manually stitch all the scan positions together, to often then thin the point cloud as the data set is to large to view or share with the client!
After a few successful trials to accommodate our clients requirements. We invested in the Leica RTC360 Laser Scanner, accompanied by the Cyclone Software suite of REG360, Publisher Pro, Cyclone 3DR and Cyclone Enterprise.
This investment has really allowed us to be front runners within the survey industry to provide topographical & measured building surveys. But also allowing us to present these large data sets on our own dedicated server. Meaning the client can access their surveys remotely, whilst our Virtual machine renders the data in the background, allowing the client to enjoy the viewing experience.
This terrestrial laser scanner and software suite also compliments our Drone Survey services. Giving us some of the best survey tools currently available on the market. Providing incredibly detailed and accurate surveys from the air, and on the ground.
