Daniel – Operations Manager

Starting his career in the construction industry in 2007, Daniel has continued to establish and expand his abilities in geomatics. Formerly specialising in Engineering Surveying and working on some of the largest and complex projects in the south west. Daniel is Skymatics Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Accountable Manager and accredited Level 5 Commercial Drone Chief Pilot. He has successfully piloted drones on large projects such as Hinkley Point C, a new nuclear power station being built in Somerset, and the HS2 scheme (High Speed Rail Network). Skymatics have specialist enhanced drone permissions for Extended Visual Line Of Site (EVLOS) and reduced operational distances through Daniels preparation of the companies Operational Safety Case – approved by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Mark – Technical Manager

Mark is an Engineering Surveyor with over fifteen years of experience in the construction industry. He has worked on some of the UK’s leading infrastructure projects, making his experience and knowledge invaluable. His most recent work has been pioneering Leica Machine Control systems at the new nuclear power station, Hinkley Point C, in Somerset. He has helped develop quicker, safer and more accurate workflows for the projects earth works operations. Mark is Skymatics Technical Manager, and is responsible for heading up our geospatial survey requirements including, installation of survey control, monitoring and point cloud processing. Also, a fully qualified drone pilot, Mark decided to create Skymatics alongside his brother Daniel to become a leader in technical survey work, visual data management and to digitise the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.

Adam - Engineering Surveyor

Adam is passionate about his role as an Engineering Surveyor. He’s always getting stuck in amongst the tough jobs with a smile on his face. Even in a senior role, he’s keen to continue his professional development and embrace new technology along the way. Adam has a vast amount of experience in large civil engineering projects, such as Hinkley Point C and HS2. Competent in both site engineering and land surveying, he’s responsible for aspects such as concrete works, highways, utilities and technical surveying tasks. He takes great pride in everything he’s tasked with and owns his work areas. Skilled with software such as LSS and Civil 3D and hardware from Leica geosystems. Adam has championed the Leica iCON GNSS & TPS range from previous experience and it’s quickly becoming a favourite amongst the Skymatics team.

Tom - Digital Engineer

Tom has joined Skymatics in the role of Digital Engineer. A whizz on Civil 3D and the Autodesk suite, Toms primary remit is currently collating, streamlining and distributing the as built information for a Tier 1 contractor on the Hinkley Point C project. No easy feat, but he takes it in his stride. Working closely with the Engineering and Survey team, he keeps the cogs turning on our endless Machine Control modelling requirements. Distributing and organising the data remotely via cloud-based solutions. Tom has also added another dimension to our workstream by introducing 4D Planning, which simplifies digital construction management. A cutting-edge solution to enable our clients to deliver their projects more efficiently.
