Renewed PfCO (Permission for Commerical Operations)

29/04/20 - By Daniel Jordan

Skymatics are excited to announce that we have been issued with our renewed PfCO (Permission for Commerical Operations).

If you’re new to the world of drones you might be asking just what is a PfCO? A PfCO is essentially the closest thing there is to a ‘drone licence’. It is granted by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and allows a drone operator to use a small unmanned aircraft (SUA) under a weight of 20kg for commercial projects. It ensures we confirm to an agreed standard from the way we operate to the insurances that we hold.

If you’re simply a hobbyist, you don’t need to worry about receiving a PfCO. However, if you plan on using your drone for commercial gain, then you are required to undertake a CAA PfCO training course and receive your permissions.

We’re looking forward to continuing operations with our regular clients and also excited seeing what the future holds as we expand our business, online presence and look to promote our services further in different sectors.

Utilising a drone to conduct large surveys allows us to efficiently and accurately capture more data than any other survey method!
